Welcome to the start of discovering hope and minimizing suffering!

Why would you reach out to me?
My Background/Qualifications
As a master’s level and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have 30 years of experience working with adults in outpatient community mental health and in inpatient and outpatient medical settings. In each of these settings, I have specialized in working with young adults to seniors and their caregivers adjusting to chronic and serious illness and grief and loss. At the launch of my career and over the past several years, I have gained training and experience in collaborating with individuals recovering from traumatic or distressing events. Loss and adjustment of any kind can prevent or interfere with your quality of life and movement forward.
In addition to being a therapist, I have worked in other roles like Case Management in hospital settings and a Social Worker in Heart Transplant, Oncology, and Palliative Care programs. I am a certified Advance Palliative and Hospice Social Worker and Clinical Trauma Professional with further training listed in the Therapeutic Approaches section. My career path has strengthened my compassion for those who are suffering and developed my passion for meaningful connections with others and their stories.
My Approach to Therapy
Through virtual (online) interactions, I offer an eclectic and unique set of skills utilizing evidence-based interventions of cognitive, existential, and strengths-based therapies that improve mood and expression, develop coping skills, build hope, meaning, and power, restore control and capability, and improve quality of life and well-being. With 168 hours per week, you will spend one hour with me to get equipped with practical and functional tools and strategies to apply and practice between our sessions. Each week we will evaluate your progress and build on these tools and strategies that will help you manage symptoms and improve coping.
If you are struggling adjusting to chronic or serious illness, navigating grief and loss, or recovering from a traumatic or distressing event, then you have come to the right place and the right therapist.
My Story
My dream of being a Social Worker began when I was 14 years old following my parents’ divorce and teenage struggles. As I climbed out of the darkness, I realized I embraced and valued the stories and strengths of others and developed a curiosity for how to elevate and respect these. I volunteered in young adulthood in my community and learned more about the Social Work profession. I also grew to understand that no matter where a person comes from, they contain value and worth and may need assistance recognizing it. Some of the most important lessons I have learned were from individuals facing challenges and suffering.
I am a wife, mother, daughter, pet owner, friend, colleague, and Social Worker. I have been a caregiver, experienced loss, and navigated trauma. I have been married for 32 years, have two adult children, and a cuddly cat named McLovin'.
